I’m a dabbler.
I recently discovered this about myself. Rather, I now have a term to describe what I’ve been doing most of my life. Scratch that. I now have a positive (or possibly cool-sounding) term to describe it. It beats quitter, procrastinator, restless, or my personal favorite— lazybones. Now, I will admit, I am all of those things at times, but dabbler sounds so much better. Am I right?
I dabble.
I am a dabbler.
This will pay homage to my new discovery and allow me to justify my dabbling. Especially to The Hubster. Come with me through this journey of self-discovery and self-actualization. Not. (Wait, no one says that anymore. I really am a dork.) Really, it will be a whirlwind of projects started, projects abandoned, projects picked back up again, many different projects started at the same time, and occasionally a project finished. Yea!
Come those who have many ideas, but very little follow through. Come those who start many projects, but rarely finish any of them. Come those who pin a lot on Pinterest, but the ideas never materialize in real life. Come those who plan various activities, but seldom go through with them. Come those who start diets enthusiastically, but have zero willpower. Come those who read many parenting articles and books, but find it easier to just allow more “screen time.” (To which, Buggy really enjoys.)
Come with me, fellow dabblers (and non-dabblers, just for a good chuckle and to judgmentally say, “Glad I’m not like that!”) on this convoluted, yet glorious journey called life. Or maybe I am the only one. In which case, I really am a dork. Who dabbles.
